Affiliate Program Rejection? How To Turn It In To An Acceptance.

May 15, 2009 · Filed Under affiliate marketing · Comment

Many of you know I’m a big fan of the Ebay Partner Network (EPN) and I teach people in The Mini Site Formula how to make money promoting it.

I got an email from one of my customers named Steve last week that I think many of you will find interesting.

You see Steve had applied for the Ebay Partner Network (EPN) and got rejected.  In the old days (last year) it was almost automatic that you would get accepted.  Now they are very selective on who gets accepted.  After years of unscrupllus affiliates “gaming the system”, they finally put their foot down and kicked out the scammers.

To get accepted now your application goes through a series of automated and real person checks.  Because there are now different layers you must now go through, it’s easy to get rejected.  Many times it’s something simple or even an error on the automated checks.

If you have applied to EPN correctly… and yes there is a right and a wrong way to do this… and you get turned down, there is one simple thing you can do that may save your bacon.

Email them.

This is exactly what Steve did.  He simply sent them an email stating a little about his site and why he felt he should be accepted to the program.

In 48 hours he was accepted.

This now brings me to the point I want to get across.  Any time you get rejected by any type of affiliate program you should ALWAYS contact the vendor again.  Email or pick up the phone.  Many times this all it takes to help the vendor understand you are serious.

At the end of the day, vendors want to work with affiliates who can provide quality traffic to their program.  If you communicate this with them, many times your rejection will be turned into an acceptance.

Don’t be afraid to pick up that phone!  Many times that all it takes.
