Outsourcing To Make Money – Video Interview.

June 6, 2009 · Filed Under Outsourcing

I just stumbled upon an Interview I did with John Jonas a few months ago that I forgot to post.  It’s all about outsourcing to the Philippines.  This is the secret that many successful Online Marketers use to grow a business from a few bucks a day to hundreds and thousands a day. In the video I talk a lot about The Mini Site Formula but this outsourcing method works with ANY kind of business.

    Hi Joel,

Will you please share some of those out sourcing sites with the rest of us trying to make a living?

    Thanks,

    Tom

BestJobs.ph is one of them, but there’s a fee to join. However, I BELIEVE you can avoid the fee if you post a job (rather than search for employees.) Not sure, has been a while since I’ve used it.

Don’t forget that you can use sites such as RentACoder.com and Elance.com to find people – you can specific geographic area if you want – it’s a way to try someone out without much of a financial commitment, and many of the people you find there have already passed tests or have portfolios you can see. Sometimes you can then hire those people privately if you like their work. I had a guy from Israel do GREAT work for me and he bid half of what I even offered to pay! And a guy from the Philippines is doing SEO work for me for $1/hour. Just started, we’ll see how he does – but I found them by posting jobs one of those larger freelance sites.

    Hi Joel,

I have implemented most of what you and John teach.
I have hired 4 Filipinos: Blog Creator, Content Writer, Video Creator (he’s awesome), and a SEO Link Builder. I have 4 mini-sites up and running in 4 weeks. Not exactly setting the world on fire as we’re trying to get up to speed. My biggest challenge is the Link Builder. Hopefully you’re willing to answer this question. What links should she be building besides Squidoo and Hub Pages and how elaborate. Does she need to build a Mini-Net like John teaches?

Thanks for sharing what you do!

John Jonas has said that BestJobs.ph is no longer allowing anybody out of the country post jobs because the owners of the site said that outsiders (so to speak) where not offering full-time jobs to the Filipinos on the site.
Please correct me if I’m wrong.

  5. Joel on June 23rd, 2009 11:01 am

@ Mark Allen – Correct. You can search on bestjobs.ph for resumes but can not post jobs your you will get your account canceled. The good news is John is coming up with a new service that will fix this problem. In addition there are other job sites out there.

I think the biggest thing that I always teach is that you really need to come off as a professional when you are recruiting. People don’t want to work for someone who is a fly-by-night company…. would you?

@Randy – Excellent to hear! Now work on your process and don’t get caught in the trap of thinking every detail has to be prefect.

Joel, my partners and I recently completed your mini site formula course and subsequently have built 30 mini sites, using outsourcing to the Phillipenes. It was tough slugging for a while to get everything co-ordinated, but we are in the final stages of completing the mini sites. We have worked up a marketing plan as well. We have “3″ people outsourced and our business relationship continues to get better and grow. We are impressed with their honesty and dedication to our mini site project.

Would you be willing to take a few minutes of your time to review over some of the sites we have built and provide us with your opinion? We would be happy to give you picture testimonies if this works out as good as we think it will. Our sites have already been indexed in Google, they love these mini blogs.

    Best Regards,

    Terry Price

Thanks Joel for getting the word out. I have two adsense mini sites and one in the works and as soon as I’m in profit I will be outsourcing. Definitely seems the way to go.
    Thanks again for sharing
    Sandra

    Hi Joel,

Do you recommend starting out as a Sole Propritorship or a corporation?

    Tjanks,

    Thomas

  13. Joel on June 24th, 2009 10:41 am

@Terry – I’d love to look at your sites and give you feedback. Contact my support department and they will route it to me.

@Thomas – It really depends on what your goals are. Of course talk to a tax or some other kind of professional. Personally I like S-Corps but many people start out with an LLC…. the only thing is after you really start making the money and switch to an S-Corp it’s a little work.
