Are You Networking? [Video]

January 20, 2010 · Filed Under misc

When I first started my business I was pretty much on my own.  In fact I ran it several years just me and a few virtual employees I hired.  Pretty soon I hit a road-block.  Here is a 6 minute video where I share the one thing that really made a difference in my business.

Great advice, and I especially love the tip about Highrise HQ. I wasn’t familiar with that service!

    Hi Joel-

Another resource for networking which I’ve just recently looked into for my local market is http://www.meetup.com

Simply search your area with topic and it immediately lets you know what is in your location. If there is nothing on your area of interest then it allows you to start your own.

    Thanks

Hi Joel: I like the idea, and as soon as I am able
to afford it I’ll be there, it will be a good investment.

    Thanks

I totally agree about the power of networking and networking events. I just came back from a business related conference over the weekend that was awesome. It was inspiring, motivational and life-changing for me. Plus, I met some awesome people. I’m committed to consistent networking this year.

Thanks Joel. As always, your input and advice is appreciated and helpful. I’m very new to this business, but I understand the power of networking. I plan to attend at least one event in 2010.

You are pretty right there Joel. Me and my mate get together once a week for what we like to call “Breakfast Club”.

    Hey Sushil,

Good to hear from you. It’s great to hear from my friends in India. I try to do there every year. Here is a little tip for you….India is going to be a huge market for Internet Marketing in the near future. Work hard and learn all you can and then take action. I know the credit card issue is hard out there but you can accomplish anything you want if you put your mind (and back) to it.

Great advice. I like to go to at least 2 or 3 events each year. I have met some great people and made some wonderful friends too!

    Hi Joel
I;m not even a newbe very limited on what and how to use a computer.
the problem for me is you order and pay for a program, and it comes up short for me. Does not explain or show how to get started, they set up a web page and tell you to follow the steps when I try to, never seems to work, so I get angry and quit, so to make a long story short offer the tools or directions for people like me so we are out there advertising and hopefully making some money

    Thanks Joel,

Good info and your right you can actually start your own social media site, like Facebook and a group on Yahoo or Google. These are two things I am definintely going to put into my business in 2010.

    Hi! Joel
The power of attraction surely works!.I was thinking on how can I connect with people of influence. I am burdened by my calling meaning I am working in an evironment that is not my calling and my “baby” meaning I am pregnant with a vision for many years and I need to network with positive people to help me feed this baby and eventually give birth. So networking with the
right people is what I have been planning this
year I need to be surrounded with winners especially women I am starting a women networking business,as a motivational speaker teacher, author, poet I need to start doing my calling or else I am in trouble by “God”I really don’t know what my excuse will be with people like you in my circle I am starting right
    now!

Thank you very much apologies for this long
note but my fingers can’t stop typing i am so!excited the law of attraction really works

Hi Joel, I just wanted to say that you are an example for all of us. You constantly provide value to your subscribers and you know how to treat them right. This goes a long way and is appreciated. I look forward to networking with you one day in the near future.

Spot on, Joel. I’m just at the stage where I have finally learned the value of real personal contact. Being a bit of a loner I’ve tried to find a way round it for years but have just now thrown in the towel ;)

    Joel,

Like you, I truly believe networking is KEY in moving forward in any business. While I have searched relentlessly in the D/FW, TX area to find such MeetUp Groups that you talk about what I have found is that the groups that have been formed around the IM business have started then stopped for various reasons. I decided to contact some of the people directly from the now defunct MeetUp groups to see if I could start a MeetUp group myself. What I have found is that most of the true IM people have told me that they don’t have the time or energy to be involved in this type of MeetUp group because they are way ahead (and/or sometimes way behind)the people they meet at these groups. Discourageing to say the least, but I am certain if I keep trying in the months to come that I will find the right mix of people to get a MeetUp group of my own started and like minded people will benefit from my efforts. So if you know anyone in the D/FW, TX area that want to come together and share their experiences, knowledge and guidance please share my contact information with them. My vision for this MeetUp group is to give as much as you take away.

Thanks for putting up this video – it speaks volumes for those of us who understand and welcome the power of networking.

    Sincerely,

    Janet Ricker

I am at the same point that you talk about when you were starting. This encourages me to grow my business and meet new people on my terms, show them my product, and get a network of people.
