Thanks Joel. As always, great stuff!

Thanks Joel, that was really helpful. I’m also enjoying working my way through the Mini Site Formula. Wish I had your easy-talking style – it would sure help with video creation!

Hey Joel,

This is my 3rd start to lsten to your presentation. I keep getting cut off as you discuss the different aspects of ClickBank. Before statring a 4th time I wanted to quick sent this email so you might also be aware-there could be technical problems, with my equipment of course, but to just may you aware as well.

I appreciate your technique and clear delivery and am looking forward to hearing all you have to share.

Thanks,

Bannister

Hi Joel,
Today i learned something new. Thank you very much and Please continue help everyone.

6 michael August 18, 2010 at 8:47 pm

so far you ve managed to talk for more than ten minutes without giving any clue what a torture to have to have your time so wasted so much without giving the content faster

7 Jorge E. Rodríguez August 18, 2010 at 8:48 pm

Big corporations also do RND, only they have a fancy name to it. They call it “Benchmarking”. When it comes down to entrepreneurship, there are just a few leaders and a whole bunch of followers. Internet Marketing is no different, but since there are soooo many people trying to make a living online, there aren’t that many innovators and way too many copycaters.

I have one of those sites that has sat and made money since 2004. Like you, I haven’t done much to promote it. hmmmm

I’m surprised to hear you recommending newsletters. I thought that was dead. I’ll have to take a new look at this.

Thanks,

Carole

Hi Joel!

Just listened to your ‘Make Money While You Sleep’ presentation. I liked what I saw and heard, and I really learned a lot.

I especially liked the part where you showed that things don’t have to be perfect, and that you too made mistakes along the way. These issues have been kinda holding me back.

Yes, as you said, you definitely could have sold this info. As a matter of fact, I just bought something very similar to this a couple of days ago, however, I still learned things like how I should make things easy for the JV partner and to show appreciation to them for their help.

And, you really answered a question that has bothered me for a long, long time. I often wondered how you’all keep track of this stuff which is one of the reasons I thought I would never be able to do it. (You know with age, the mind is the first to go, or so they say, so I didn’t think I really stood a chance:-), but now I at least have hope)

I’m basically self-taught when it comes to the computer, so what may come natural to others sometimes still stumps an old gal like me so I really appreciate the tip about Highrise.

And, thanks so much for the caring way you kinda kicked us in the butt to get in gear and actually put something out there.

I CAN do this, and when I do, you’re going to be the first to know when I start making money while (I) sleep!

As a matter of fact, I’ve spent the better part of today creating my own product which is very similar to one of the popular ones that I saw on ClickBank, and since it’s something I know about first-hand, it went really fast, however, I have no clue as to what I will use for a back-end, so I thought that even if I had to buy something from one of those I copied from, I could see how they approach me, then I too will approach my buyers accordingly.????

This sounds kinda like falling off a log simple, so…it’s gonna happen…watch and see!

Thanks for caring and sharing…
God Bless

Patrisha

Joel I’m from Brazil and I would say thanks for the vídeo info

15 Hope August 18, 2010 at 11:12 pm

Thanks Joel. Your video said it all about starting out an online business as a newbie. It does take time and patience. No pain, no gain. And no free lunch, too. There are a lot to learn in this business. You just need to stick to it and never give up.

Too many people buy into ‘get rich quick’ pitch and expect ‘set it and forget it’ quick money. While it could be truth for some people, the majority still have to work really hard at the beginning of their online business. I know I’m one of the majority. But I’m happy about all these hard work and time I’ve been putting into. It is well worth it!!

16 Keri Eagan August 19, 2010 at 12:20 am

Hi Joel,
The best part of that presentation for me was the Highrisehq tip which I’ll be implimenting shortly.
Blessings,
K.

Joel,

This video is fantastic. Having been a full-time online marketer myself for quite some time now, I can honestly say that the strategy you’ve shared here is one of the simplest and quickest ways to make good (and sustainable) money online. Keep up the great work.

Adam

19 William August 19, 2010 at 1:18 am

Hi. Thanks for the video – enjoyed it and learned a lot.
What I also like about your style is that it is clear, calm and hype-free.
Some of the hype out there seems to get newbies especially (I’m a newbie) excited but still confused.

20 Wayne Stanila August 19, 2010 at 2:24 am

Hi Joel,

Liked the info for newsletter angel.

I have a Brand New product that I would like for you to promote. John Thornhill is on board and has me qued up for a promo. It is for the website listed above. Can I contact you and send the affiliate page?

Thanks,
Wayne Stanila

21 Dan DeMarco August 19, 2010 at 2:37 am

Glad to hear from you again Joel! Hope your health is doing A++

Great tips. The sad part of it is that most people watching your awesome presentation, with all the steps you outlined, wont do anything about. Even though you gave the steps to follow from beginning to end, to become financially independent.

Only those who take action will succeed.

Taking action is the medicine against failure.

Keep up the good work!

Cordially,

Dan DeMarco

22 Pete Moring August 19, 2010 at 3:23 am

Hi Joel, thanks for sharing this very insightful video with us.
Got some great notes taken down – Thanks :-)

Have #Tweeted it … Cheers, Pete.

23 Chris August 19, 2010 at 4:47 am

Hey Joel,

I sounds like a good idea but I don’t think it would work for me.
It only works for you because you have a list. ;-)

Seriously though, that was great content.
Internet marketing doesn’t need to be any more complicated then that.

24 Andrew Cox August 19, 2010 at 5:01 am

Hi Joel,

Awesome presentation… really enjoyed it!

I’ve just started to develop some niche based websites based on topics I am passionate about. Hopefully others find them interesting as we.

Thanks again,

Andrew

25 Todd Fetters August 19, 2010 at 6:55 am

Joel,
Very good presentation. Really enjoyed your delivery of information including real numbers on your product launch. The other internet marketers you mentioned are top notch and it is great to see that they promoted your product early on.
Thanks for sharing.

26 Lawrence from Safe Weight Loss August 19, 2010 at 6:59 am

Great info Joel. I learned some new things today. However, I have just one question that sort of always keeps me from venturing into the area of product creation. Let’s say you’re looking through clickbank for a product related to making money onlibe or something like that. There are obvioulsy tons of products in that area. If you were to make a similar product, how would you go about competing with all these other products? I have no problem trying with the newsletter approach, but if I’m also looking for some natural leads from just appearing on the clickbank site itself, how would I position myself to compete with some of the others that already have higher gravity and high commisions etc. Or should I not even pursue this and just concentrate on the newsletter approach?
Any insight is aprreciated and thanks again for the info. I think I’m much closer to trying this then ever before.

27 Joel August 19, 2010 at 7:16 am

Hey Lawrence,

It’s all about your USP (Unique Selling Point)

Don’t worry about competition. There is a reason so many people are in that Niche… because it’s profitable! Just come up with what makes your offer “different”

28 Dennis August 19, 2010 at 7:16 am

Hi Joel, Thank you for the great info training video i ben on your list now for about 3 or 4 months you always put out help full infomation for everyone. Can you tell me something do you think that you can make money building small 5 pages sites selling affilate products by getting free traffic. Can you please let me no thanks dennis.

29 Richard Parry August 19, 2010 at 7:48 am

Hello Dr. Joel,

One of the most important things I can say is that you just did it. You laid a base of how to fall forward fast as you are doing it. Movement beat meritocracy says Gary Halbert. This is an example.

I struggle on tech software. Microsoft designer you mention is available in 2010 now and going thru the video they have made me feel like I was looking at a College professor trying to explain the highest form of out of reach Rocket science. The thought of web pages has held me back for over 2 years in the money making aspect because I seemed to go listen and learn everything else to avoid this very part.

Contacting people on the phone – no issue.
Doing SEO — No issue
Doing PPC — No issue

I could go further on the strengths of what I and I am sure anyone here has found easy
to study, learn, and at the end of the day ~~~ Nothing. Not until you get the software,
websites and management of these parts are learned for at least the first time. Then we could easily use the knowledge we have learned and get into falling forward fast in the actual application of a an online business.

You know Joel what would be the greatest help from a trusted source in you would be ?
Do a 6 step mini course people can opt into and show how to use the tools you mention.
1. The designer tool from Microsoft
2. cam screen
3. Powerpoint
Basically look at your video and take all the techie stuff and do a brain dead push this, push that, here is how you do this exactly. Basically create a portal for website tool rookies to follow, capture us, and than say OK each of the 6 video you just watched can be handed to the outsource-rs and you can now do a compact easy to follow 3 step series on that.

What is the benefit?

TECH problem to online success. You have the knowledge of the flow and the products that could fit any application you teach. I just know that until I can do this myself with the knowledge to get the damn thing on-line I will be living in a pipe dream.

I think you will see many people relate to this. The video was clear, concise and made a few question come up that need to be set up…

1.Getting your first website (or your 10th) Mini Course Step 1 to 6
2. Outsource all of it (The costs) and your PROFIT Mini Course 1 to 3

This just came to me as I want to have a clear path from just one to 3 giants in this industry.
The difficulty come in the scatter brain reality of so much info instead of

HEY YOU! Get your damn site up
I check it and Make recommendations
Here’s a 6 step Mini course on How I
Will teach you 6 website TECH things
you can easily do to get online in a week
1 a day for 6 days with 1-2 hours a day
effort needed. BUT YOUR site will be up!

Something like that.

I love your style… many people do. You are real – not a guru Whiner selling just anything!

Respect and I hope people let Joel know that we do Like HIS style… and this made sense
to others that know what I’m saying.

I love this video.

30 Dustin August 19, 2010 at 8:07 am

Hey Joel, I heard this whole story before – back in 2003 ;) You’ve come a long way. Way to go man!

31 Joel August 19, 2010 at 8:20 am

Hey great to hear from you Dustin! Yes folks Dustin and I worked at 3M together back in the day. I still remember hanging out in the cubicle talking about all this stuff. Time goes by fast!

32 Jerry Hancock August 19, 2010 at 9:00 am

I have never heard of High Rise CRM, or Share Point Designer: something that I need to check out.

Yes, I made notes as I watched your video. Everybody should. You made some fantastic points: especially your idea about newsletters, and how to use them to research a niche. I had never heard of this method of niche discovery and market research!

Thanks for the tips Joel. You did a fine job on this video. And best of all: Its Free!

I formerly used–and liked–Front Page until someone hacked my site and my ISP encouraged me to find another tool for creating web pages. I’ve been looking for a replacement but haven’t found anything that either wasn’t costly or didn’t involve a fairly steep learning curve. Thanks for mentioning Microsoft’s SharePoint, which you say is a free successor to FP. I’m going to check it out. Hopefully it will be enough like FP that I won’t need to put in hours of education. The rest of your tips are great, too!

Hey Joel,

Just wanted to say thanks and I really enjoyed your video. While some may be impatient and want bullet points on how to make money in 10 nano seconds or less, I found your presentation calm and easy going and easy to follow along. AND, of course, the price was right.

Thanks again for your time and information,

Laws

35 Joerg August 19, 2010 at 1:17 pm

Hi Joel,
What a wonderful tutorial to make. I just had to bookmark it on several sites. I’ve seen numerous tutorials of yours and this is a great all-in-one that only takes half an hour and conveys a total concept. What I liked about it was the independence of SE rules. Even without SEs you’d make sales.
Thanks and all the best to you!
Joerg

36 Olga August 19, 2010 at 2:09 pm

Thanks for the video, Joel. It’s great. And most importantly, it gave me a lot of information and ideas to start an online business.

37 AnneMarie Callan August 19, 2010 at 2:22 pm

Joel

This was a great video for reminding people to go back to basics – plus more.

I loved the way near the end, you said to nurture your product, because this is where a lot of people miss out … jumping from one thing to another. Let’s face it, if we worked for a company we would have to do certain things each day.

I thoroughly enjoyed and took notes from, this video.

That was a great ‘giving back’ on your part – a lesson for us all to learn.

38 Bob August 19, 2010 at 3:06 pm

Thanks for the video! Right now I’m taking a little different advice and ‘staying focused’ since I’m just on the cusp of getting a mini-site business up and running (Per your Mini-Site Formula, no less! Free plug!). I have one site waiting on the ‘Traffic Flood,’ another site I’ve just ‘sent out’ myself already, and a third site almost ready to go, too, Plus I’m about to get someone else on board to outsource a lot of the steps for future sites, which will hopefully speed up the process from one or two sites a week to 5 or 6 or more as early as next week! (And yes, I still have a full time J-O-B)

Once I have a stable of mini-sites up and running enough for me to leave my regular J-O-B (Hopefully by the end of the year!), creating a product and a list is next on the agenda, but I don’t want to get distracted from my current project before it’s up and running and I can really evaluate it (I have a problem with getting distracted just as something gets started that way!)

Aside from learning to ‘stay focused’ on a project, there is another perspective that I’m interested in for creating a product and doing ‘JV’s. From the other side of it, as someone who GETS approached a lot, what is it that you, (and some of the other people you’ve mentioned) actually LOOK for when someone presents a JV offer to you? Past history with that person? A unique product? A new angle on an existing technique or product? How creatively they make their ‘pitch’ to you and/or your help desk people? What you expect the future relationship with that partner to hold?

Hey, maybe I could do an interview series on how to pitch a project and make that my product! I’d be making the product AND pitching it at the same time! :-)

Thanks again, this is GREAT info!

Bob

I enjoyed your site imensely! For a new beginner, it was very easy to understand. I did take notes! Loved it! Please keep it up!

44 Jan August 29, 2010 at 10:24 am

Thanks so much, Joel. Your presentation is straightforward and presented with honesty… very refreshing these days. The information you have shared is invaluable, and you gave it freely. Your generosity and optimism are truly appreciated.
I make this appeal with most every comment I leave, so I’ll ask it of you as well.
Could you show an example using a tangible product as opposed to an e-book or information product? Many of us are starving for how to do it with kitchenware, yard art, bath linens or home decor. Most of the gurus who promoted your product to begin with rarely talk about tangible goods any more, yet we know folks buy them.
Thanks again.

Joel, great basic advice and direction. I know it gets much deeper but this is really good starting stuff. I’ve been reading books and subscribed to many of the affiliate newsletters, watch lots of videos, etc. There’s so much out there – TOO much. But I like what you have to say and your approach. You and John Jonas are my favorite guys. Not sales-y or spammy. The guys who provide me with lots of quality free material get my $ later. Again, much appreciated and keep up the good work.

50 Ellen February 23, 2011 at 4:31 pm

Pure simplicity. Thank you for the inspiring sharing.
